torresengineering.stores.yahoo.net/duprskitup.htmlOnly thing im thinking about is the pick-ups needing to be soldered. I heard if the iron is too hot you'll wreck the coils in the pickups, but then it needs to be hotter for the tone pots cos they displace the heat, des said I should get it done for me in town, and my dad is sayin i just need to get a solder gun thing. Can anyone help me figure out all these conflicting opinions? Oh and it doesnt look lyk you get paint r whatnot with it, so i was thinking of staining it and leavin the neck bare. but the basswood is dark and normally people put a darker colour on it. So i think my main question is, should i attempt it myself or just pay someone to do it, even though it kind of takes the fun out of it. But i dont want to destroy a set of Duncans.

Well, you could do it yourself. But its a bit daunting if you havnt done it before. You seem unsure about different temps in regards wrecking it... You can always pop into musician and ask for Rog. He should be able to sort you out no problem
