Terry Bozzio he started out in Frank Zappas band and then went on and did a whole heap o stuff that set him up as a legend. His cymbals are his own signatures and are pitched to a certain note! i have two of them and they feel really alone compared to his array! check out: www.terrybozzio.com/and www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Terry_Bozzio.html

i dont feel so bad anymore! When i started out i bought a kit on hire purchase (Pearl export) that came with 4 toms and it was a great Rock kit so i was spoilt from the start! Tho i moved to spain and sold it so when i got back i had nothing but luckily Log (mike got spiked's drummer) loaned me his'party kit' - a Striker 2 tom with a sawn in half floor tom for a bass drum! I really learned the imprtance of time on that kit! Luckily i have the loan of a kit from Retropet which is tying me over for the next few months! guess we all gotta start somewhere - even the mighty Bozzio!

Just pearl exports in general. i remember when i was 1st getting lessons i had a go on my friends export kit and i remember having loads of fun. i dont know if it was to do wit it being so much bigger and overwhelming than mine (and me being so small) or if it was actually as fun as i remember.
